HOW TO BUILD A HOLLOW WOODEN SURFBOARD

Want to build your own hollow wooden surfboard? We've outlined all of the steps in a 30 page, easy to follow instruction set, and provided a digital 1:1 template set which gives you the full outline and cutting templates for a time-tested shape, which is designed for good summer fun. There are currently two shapes on offer, the 5'10" Retro Hatchet Fish and the 8'6" Burl longboard, both linked below.

HOW DIFFICULT IS IT?
Each and every step has been carefully thought through, and basified to it's simplest explanations along with a detailed illustration to demonstrate the ideal process and end result. Following these instructions, accompanied with a basic understanding of hand-tools and woodworking terminology, you'll be just fine.
WHAT TOOLS DO I NEED?
Any basic woodshop is well equipped to handle this job, however if you are building from scratch, it is recommended to have the following hand tools and powe rtools: Jig Saw, Sander, Hand Plane, Palm Router.
WHAT ABOUT FIBERGLASSING?
As likely the hardest and most critical part of the process to end quality, we recommend to outsource this part to the professionals. We are happy to help you find the right shop, nearby to your area, just ask.
WHAT ALL COMES WITH IT?
This is solely a digital kit, comprising of a full instruction set along with a 1:1 PDF/ DXF templates kit. Included in the templates kit are all of the board frame pieces as well as few other pieces such as rail templates and fin placement jigs.
